The Tap and Tankard NEVER disappoints!!! It’s our “go-to” location for good food and good beer. The menu offers traditional pub food with many added flavors and eclectic options. The staff is always attentive and very polite. Great place!!!
The Tap and Tankard is a great casual place to come here and enjoy a beer and some finger foods with your friends and family. The service is actually very quick and the food here is delicious. The prices here are reasonable. I won’t say it’s the cheapest but I wouldn’t say it is expensive as well. The staff here are also very friendly. Will surely come back here again in the future.

Living in Toronto, I rarely venture out to the Durham Region to explore all it has to offer. However, I finally made the trip last night, and I’m so glad I did! The Tap and Tankard in Whitby was absolutely fantastic and is now definitely on my list of go-to spots. The food portions were enormous and consistently delicious, a sentiment shared by everyone in our group. Aimee and Kristen provided outstanding service, always quick to refill drinks and offering helpful menu recommendations that we really appreciated. Great job, ladies! The TV screens were also impressive, and I’m already planning to return for a Leafs playoff game. Well done, Tap and Tankard! It was truly a memorable experience.
The Tap and Tankard is a terrific little spot, offering a welcoming open space and a charming, old-fashioned service approach that truly puts the customer first. The food is absolutely outstanding—every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. Remarkably, this may be the only place where I’d ever choose a salad over fries—the salad was that good. It came beautifully dressed with walnuts and cheese, adding a delicious touch of richness and texture. Katie and Kristen did a fabulous job taking care of our table, even with our large party. They ensured everything we needed was delivered promptly and with genuine friendliness. Their attention to detail and warm service really stood out. Thank you for the commendable hospitality—this experience was a delight from start to finish.
I love eating at the tap. They have great service and the food is better than your average pub. My go to is the Buffalo chicken wrap and Greek salad or sweet potato fries. They have a great drink.list as well that include beers from some of my favourite breweries. The nachos are also amazing. When it isn't covid there is great live music as well.
Just came from the Tap and Tankard golf tournament. Highly recommend. Great day on the course. Bag lunch. Big Sandwich, snacks and drink. Lots of games. Dinner and prizes afterwards. Sarah, Chloe, and Brad are great. Look forward to next year.
We held a retirement event and it was the perfect casual event. The food was great and plentiful! The pub was helpful and accommodating with our plans and even helped develop signature drinks and made signs for them! The back area was perfect for the group of 55 that we had, with a curtain available to close over for more privacy! We are going to look at planning a few more events there for our school staff!
